Saturday September 27, 2025. Participants desiring to car pool can meet-up between 9:00 AM-9:15 AM at the Safeway parking lot on Colorado Ave, just past 31st St. Note that vehicles not registered for Colorado State Parks must pay a day fee of $10 at a clearly-marked station near the park entrance. For those driving to the hike trailhead, take Hwy 24 West through Woodland Park to Divide, then turn South on Hwy 67. The entrance to Mueller State Park is about 3.5 miles from Divide. The address is 21045 Hwy-67, Divide, CO 80814. Once in the park, follow Wapiti Rd about 3 miles, past Camper Services, to the Grouse Mountain Trailhead, where the Cheeseman Ranch Trail is #17. Plan to arrive at the trailhead by 10:00 AM.

Hike Description

This hike is suited for all hikers, but will be a bit longer than our usual “all hikers” hikes, at a little over 5 miles in length, with some elevation in spots. Dogs are not allowed on the trails. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center. We will hike the Cheeseman Ranch Trail, a loop route to be covered in 2.5 to 3 hours. As always, bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen.
