Meet at the Safeway parking lot (where we meet on day trips skiing) on Colorado Ave, just west of 31st St. between 8:00 and 8:15am. We will then carpool/caravan to the park, with the destination being the Main (northern most) Parking Lot on Juniper Way Loop, just before it loops back down. If the lot is full, we will stay on Juniper Loop and park in an alternative location.

This hike is rated as easy, and is described in "20 Best Hikes in Colorado Springs", by the Colorado Mountain Club, with Greg Long. It will be a clockwise loop hike encompassing the Bretag, Ute, Buckskin Charley, Scotsman and Palmer trails totaling about 3 miles. The final ascent on the Palmer trail is a bit steep, but overall the elevation is minimal. It should at most about 2 hours. As always, bring plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen. Because of the crowds, dogs should be left at home.
